APRS TX enables licensed Ham Radio operators to transmit their position details to the APRS-IS network via the internet. Each position packet includes the following information:
- Latitude
- Longitude
- Speed
- Altitude
- Bearing
- Beacon message (22 characters max)
- APRS Symbol
The latest update allows for messaging between APRS stations.
Users are required to input their Callsign and Passcode within the application. Passcodes are exclusive to licensed Ham Radio operators and can be obtained at www.dstarcomms.com/aprs.
Settings that can be modified within the app include:
- Callsign
- Passcode
- APRS-IS Server URL
- Beacon Message
- Beacon Time Interval
- APRS Symbol to select the icon displayed on APRS maps
The app is compatible with iPad devices, although continuous location tracking is necessary, typically through GSM or WiFi connections.
Kindly note that this app utilizes the GPS functionality of your device, potentially leading to increased battery consumption.
